Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, is celebrated in January and/or February each year to mark the start of a new moon. In 2022, Chinese New Year begins on February 1st, and this is the year of the Tiger.
Along with the iconic dragons and fireworks used to celebrate, families also clean their houses to sweep away the old and bad, while welcoming the new, allowing good luck to flow throughout their homes.
People also celebrate with big feasts, they visit relatives, and gift red envelopes containing money to others.
