In this project, we mix art 🎨 and a little science 👩‍🔬 for some colorful fun.

Have you ever tried mixing water and oil together? What happens? In this video, Jessie combines these two liquids to understand how they mix (or don’t mix), and she shows you how to create some unique art in the process.

Materials needed:

• A small tray (with a lip)
• A cup of water
• Kitchen oil (vegetable oil, canola oil, or olive oil)
• Food coloring or liquid watercolor
• A straw or eye dropper
• A sheet of thick paper
